Image Transfer | In-Person
What happens when a photograph stops being only an image on paper?
In this workshop we will explore image transfer as a way of carrying our photographs onto other bodies and surfaces. Glass, ceramic, stone, leather, tile, and other materials become new supports for experimenting with, intervening in, and transforming the image.
An approach to manual techniques and experimental processes that expand photography beyond its surface and turn it into matter, texture, object.
In this course you will learn
to transfer printed images onto different surfaces and materials,
to explore the possibilities of photography when it leaves paper behind and becomes an object.
What's included
The workshop includes the materials needed for the practical work. You only need to bring your images and the surfaces you want to experiment with.
A space designed for anyone who wants to experiment with photography in a more material way and step away, for a moment, from the image as a flat surface. No previous experience with these techniques is required.
We will work hands-on, exploring the processes, their possibilities, and what happens when the image doesn't behave exactly as we expect.
